White Linen Night

Originating in New Orleans where wearing white linen clothing helped people beat the heat in pre-air-conditioning days, White Linen Night in Houston Heights, one of Houston’s oldest suburbs, is quite a spectacular. It is an annual event that showcases the art, culture and food of Houston Heights.  In truth, it’s also a great excuse for a relaxed and fun night out with friends.

The streets are crowded with tens of thousands people in all manner of white garb.  All sorts of music can be heard on street corners, and grills and other local fare wafts through the steamy evening air contributing to the wonderful festive atmosphere of this event.  Well worth the short drive across the Bayou!
